In Andover, Massachusetts, a town with a population of about 33,000 people, some city workers may soon have the option of receiving part of their pay in $1 American Eagle Silver coins.
A local resident came up the idea and furnished a petition with the minimum 10 signatures by registered voters necessary to be considered at the Town Meeting in April.
The idea is to help give city employees more purchasing power as a viable alternative to receiving more dollars, since they agreed to budget cuts to help balance the city budget.
